Here’s my Flaunt it Friday:

On Monday mornings, I volunteer at a local charity shop. I’d noticed the beautiful Royal Doulton tea set a few weeks before, marvelling at its simple elegance. Several customers had admired it, picking up the teapot or milk jug, but no one had bought it. On Monday, I spotted a woman looking at it, turning various pieces over in her hands. She approached the till, enquiring if the price was for the whole set, which it was.

Having taken her payment – £25 – I carefully wrapped each piece, packing it all neatly into a bag. I felt so pleased for her as she went off proudly clutching her bag and telling me she couldn’t wait to use her tea set. I was also pleased for making the sale; it all adds to the money needed by Children’s Air Ambulance.

  2. As to what I’m pleased about.
    Winnie, our 12yr old collie dog has been struggling with arthritis in her feet and back and also grieving for our Tilly (her mum) who passed in Feb. She has laser and acupuncture treatments and now swimming sessions. And then this week, we had two days Mantrailing and she was on fire. So keen and having so much fun. Me too. So it appears we are all on the mend. And her treatments must be working!! Still grinning today🤣

  3. Well done, a decent bit of profit 😀 Can’t say it’s been a great week. Although a chap fell at a race where I was the first aider. On his head so it was a bit bloody! And he was unconscious for about a minute. Got him bandaged and took him to hospital. He’s ok now so I suppose that’s worth mentioning 😂
