This week I am really pleased at how wonderful the produce from my small garden is. Delicious new potatoes, enough mini cucumbers for us and our neighbours, mint, rocket … It’s very satisfying to eat food you’ve grown yourself. Fresh blueberries every morning with breakfast is a real treat.
What are you pleased with this week?

Nev, the main character in my children’s book, The Clocker, picks veggie leaves from his garden to give to his hens. My Books
Looks very appertising, well done! I’ve taken a fence down and got rid of two bins of Ivy

Sterling work! Hmm 🤔 I wonder what the origin of that phrase is?

Thank you. Apparently from the fact a silver penny was of high quality. The pound sterling was the monetary system. I guess whoever produced the silver penny was considered to have done sterling work. 🤔

I agree everything tastes better when it’s homegrown.
This week I’ve completed another 6,000+ words of editing for my novel. Also had a band rehearsal for our gig this evening. I have listened to my body this week and taken things a bit easier after being poorly.
Have a lovely weekend, Liz and enjoy those veggies!

Looks lovely – nothing to beat homegrown veg and I plan to do some when we move to a flat garden!
So, what am I pleased with this week? Managing to fit some writing in amongst packing for our move (will it ever happen). I just can’t concentrate on my novels at the moment.

I think managing to fit in writing around the stress of moving is definitely something to be pleased about!

You can’t beat homegrown. My lettuces and radish have been delish. It’s like the Day of the Triffids in my greenhouse at the mo and my toms are nearly red! It looks like there’ll be some courgettes by the end of the weekend with lots more coming. (Looks like a glut so courgettes anyone…? Hopefully my spuds will be ready soon. I love new potatoes. Now, blueberries sound wonderful but I’m not sure I’d be able to grow them here? the rhubabrb is doing well and lots of apples coming! And now I’m hungry! 🤣

Wow, that’s really impressive. Home grown radishes are amazing, aren’t they? Hot, hot, hot! I’ve got loads of courgettes too – always a glut. Good to know a fellow veg grower!

Radishes – oh yes, definitley boom in the mouth, hot! Beans are a bit weak and spindly this year (it may be because they went in late with due t the late frosts and haven’t had to contend with 10 force gales! Still, there’s always next year! 🤣

That’s great, Liz. Unfortunately, neither Graeme nor I have been blessed with green fingers!
